Website Terms of Use
The rules for using this website. Our hosting and management services are governed by a separate written agreement with each client.
1. Who we are and acceptance
This website (harbourandkey.com) is operated by Harbour & Key Hospitality Management Group Inc. ("Harbour & Key", "we", "us"), Toronto, Ontario. By using the site you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
2. Information only — not advice
Content on this site, including summaries of the City of Toronto short-term rental bylaw, fees, taxes, timelines and earning ranges, is general information. It is not legal, tax, financial, insurance or real estate advice, and it may be out of date. Municipal rules change; always confirm current requirements with the City of Toronto and obtain professional advice for your circumstances. Any illustrative figures are examples only — we do not guarantee occupancy, revenue or results.
3. Eligibility and your responsibilities as an operator
Short-term rentals in Toronto are permitted only in an operator's principal residence and require City registration. If you engage us, you remain the registered operator and are solely responsible for your registration, the accuracy of information you provide to the City, City inspections and inquiries, Municipal Accommodation Tax filings, and compliance with the bylaw, your condominium rules, your lease and your insurance. You agree not to ask us to list a property that does not qualify, and you confirm that information you submit through our forms is accurate.
4. Enquiries and consultations
Submitting a consultation request does not create a client relationship or any obligation on either side. A consultation is free and non-binding. Services begin only when a written management or co-hosting agreement is signed.
5. Independence from booking platforms
Harbour & Key is an independent business. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or acting on behalf of Airbnb, Inc., Vrbo, Booking.com or any other booking platform, or the City of Toronto. Platform names and logos are trademarks of their owners and appear only to describe the services we support. Your use of any platform is subject to that platform's own terms.
6. Intellectual property
The text, design, logos, photographs and other content on this site belong to us or our licensors. The Harbour & Key name and mark are used by us as our business identity; our business name is registered in Ontario; a trademark application is in preparation and no registered trademark is claimed. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use. Don't copy, scrape, republish or use our branding without written permission.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use the site to submit false or misleading information, to interfere with its operation or security, to send unsolicited messages, or in any way that breaks the law. We may block access for misuse.
8. Third-party links and services
Links to the City of Toronto, booking platforms and other sites are provided for convenience. We don't control and aren't responsible for their content or practices. The site runs on the HighLevel platform; availability may be affected by that platform's maintenance or outages.
9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, availability or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of or reliance on the site or its content, including lost revenue, fines, delisting or regulatory action resulting from an operator's own non-compliance. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Ontario law.
10. Privacy and communications
Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy. By submitting a form you consent to be contacted about your enquiry; marketing messages are sent only with your separate, optional consent.
11. Accessibility
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 AA and the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. If you encounter a barrier, contact us at [email protected] and we'll provide the information in an alternative format.
12. Changes, governing law and contact
We may update these terms by posting a new version here. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
